This is the first time my shoulder popped out and they had to pop back in the emergency room, I’ve had 3 subluxations prior and I think 1 injury where I popped it in myself. Prior to this dislocation it’s been 4 years since I had any problems, I just started bouldering 8 months ago and I guess the stress of bouldering and my lack of rest and antagonist exercises for my body caught up to me. It has been 5 weeks since my injury been pain free, I can hangboard with just some stiffness on my shoulder and diligently doing shoulder stabilization PT.
First ortho surgeon I saw recommended surgery right away, as he said it is likely it will pop out again but I already know that, looking for another ortho for a second opinion if anybody has recommendations in NJ! I really feel like I could go without it with how PT is going but the demand will eventually catch up to me I believe if I want to continue to climb hard. Anywho here’s 2 MRI results one from 2016 when I had the 4 subluxations and an arthrogram I just had recently .
