Thinking of doing South Six Shooter Peak this year. From what I've read, the dirt road to the base is pretty rough. My road trip vehicle is a 2006 t1n Sprinter, 158" wheelbase. It's the long, tall one, rear wheel drive. The tires I have on it are Toyo Open Country AT III all terrains. They add 1" to the ground clearance of the factory tires.
How likely is my van to make it to the carins without getting stuck, and perhaps even more importantly, getting back on the pavement?
My buddy and I climbed it last weekend, we used my Crosstrek to drive out and back. He has a Ford e250 and wouldn’t have wanted to chance it in his 2wd van. However, a 2wd van made it out there and back that day as well, so it is ‘doable.’ There is one hill that has some off kilter rockiness that could present a problem. But you can scout it, and if it seems too sketch, there is lots of room there to turn around if you’re not feeling it. Hope that helps Jay, good luck.
It'd be easy to tuck in a shovel, a bottle jack, and some 2x12 boards. The vehicle is pretty big and pushing it out would take more people than I'm going to have along. Would there be any merit to a come along?
The other vehicle we're likely to have there is a Dodge Caravan minivan. That's likely to stay up on the pavement.

Decided it was a bit much for my 2wd transit a few months ago. Had a ride within half a mile of hiking tho. Indian creek was always easy for me to get around by thumbing
