I've been looking for a new all-rounder harness to buy once my Camp CR4 bites the dust and these both look pretty solid. I mainly climb sport and trad, with my favorite style being mixed routes. So I need a harness that can carry up to a double rack pretty comfortably, while also being relatively light/compact (otherwise I'd probably be going for the Cadillac).
Just wanted to hear from people that have the most recent models regarding how much gear you can comfortably fit on there and whether they like the positioning/orientation of the gear loops.
From what I can tell, they recently updated both designs within the past year or two? I just can't find much about them on this forum or elsewhere on the interwebs. I was reading an old forum post and it seems like you can get a custom setup, so if anyone has experience with that I'd love to hear how it turned out! I'm thinking of getting one of the two and adding a fifth gear loop on the back for anchor stuff and other supplies when doing multi-pitches.
I have and love the sonic. It's my go to cragging harness. Heck I've brought it into the alpine as well. It's not light, and does not pack well. But it carrys gear very well and you won't even know it's there.
The turbo did not fit me. I have big thighs and a smallish waist so I had to size up and go to the sonic with the adjustable leg loops.
Misty just relaunched both models with some pretty small but significant updates. I assume you've found this but just in case, it's from an interview this summer so will reflect the current makeup, including the updated materials, angled gear loops and integrated haul loop. I personally think it's hard to beat as a mixed harness that won't carry as much as a caddy but will give you the rest of the features you want.
I have both the Turbo and the Caddy...unless you want to big wall, I would go with the Turbo. It works for me in places like Eldo and Lumpy Ridge, where I don't need a massive rack, but still need to carry 8-10 cams.
