Soft Shell Pant Recommendations for Winter Climbing and Skiing

Looking to get new pants as my OR Cirques are getting very old.. I tried getting a new pair of Cirques and thought that the updates sucked, mostly being the flare at the bottom of the pant makes it seem like it would be easy to catch with a crampon.. Looking for a pant that isnt fleece lined, but maybe a thicker material than a lightweight soft shell..

What are people wearing and like for this? Anyone have some recommendations?

Another approach is to have a tailor or decent home sewing machine jockey taper the lower legs of the Cirques.

Ortovox, La Sportiva, Mammut, Dynafit or Salewa have the best softhsell pants available IMHO.

I love my NW Alpine Thielsen pants if you want to support a smaller US brand

Try Stellar Mointain Equipment. Great pant and great value.

Ortovox Westalpen or Mammut Eisfeld Advanced SO Pants

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
