Hi friends,

Looking for a PT in the state of OR who actually know how to help out a climber. Looking in general, not for a specific issue at the moment. I have lingering issues that I like to keep tabs on, so it helps to see someone when things flare up.

Rebound PT in Bend, especially the Simpson location has top notch PTs. They each have areas of specialty so who you see will depend on the issues. For knees/legs I'd recommend Ellie, Connor is great for spine/shoulders, Pablo is really good for arm/shoulder issues, I'm sure the others are also great, just no personal experience. They typically are pretty booked up so plan accordingly.

Check out Rose City PT in NW PDX.  They helped me recover first from a shoulder injury related to climbing, then later for a running related injury.  Karl Kolbeck is a shoulder expert and has treated many climbers over the years.  I saw Ryan Bourdo last for the running and received excellent care.

I've been doing physical therapy to rehab my shoulder after surgery to repair my torn labrum at focus PT in Bend and have been pleased so far with my physical therapists. I've worked with Peter Schrey and Kyle Merriam at their west side location and their quality of care has been great. They have a good understanding of the specific demands climbing puts on the body and have adjusted my treatment accordingly.

I’ve also had really good experiences with Ellie for knee, shoulder, and low back+hip stuff.  As have many other climber friends.  Though she doesn’t really climb, she’s used to working with athletes and knows the human body really well.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
