I like how she has a portaledge, but no rope.

Even better if she just randomly finds the porta ledge, because that's reasonable.

The climbing scenes are dark as shit and you can't see nothin, which seems to be the norm for Hollywood these days

What???? Everyone knows climbers only send at night.  The sun.... she burns so badly. : - )

Hollywood. What's next... Vampire Big Wall?

She... was from a small town on a summer trip to Yosemite.

He... was a big wall climber with a rare medical phenomenon, who ate through partners.

When they met (insert meet-cute moment here) it was love at first bite! Vampire Big Wall: Coming Soon!

or how about Breaking Dawn Wall (snicker)

OMG this looks so awful. There’s not going to be anything amusing about that.

Maybe once upon a time but these days that portaledge would have already been returned to its abandoner.

I’d really love to know the answer to “what the fuck were you thinking?”  from the people who made this film.

they obviously didn’t follow their own advice from the poster. They lost their grip.

It will be interesting to see Renan Ozturk's darker side in this one!

I know it’s only February, but I predict this is going to be the best comedy of the year! Oh, and that acting looks top notch (eye roll)

no one you would think of as a "studio executive" would do something like this. I think.

this is probably independent of studio folks, possibly some of them with a film student background, working outside of a studio system, I would wager

so good on them for doing a student genre film on their own, with a little more than a student film budget, but looks pretty stinky. wonder who their "climbing consultant" was.

it looks like a gym climbers fever dream of what they expect bigwall climbing to entail.

I think they are betting for it to get word of mouth in a "its so bad its good" way. hoping for a sharknado type situation, then they can sell it in someway or get some investment on the next one. we are talking about it here. so they are off to the races.

Well, I haven't seen it, it is extremely likely that none of mountain projectors discussing this movie have seen it either, but I am quite sure that producers did not intend this to be  a "comedy" based on this plot snippet that can be easily found on the interwebs [ https://moviesandmania.com/2022/01/08/the-ledge-movie-film-thriller-mountain-climbing-killers-2022-overview-trailer/ ]

A rock-climbing adventure between two female friends turns into a terrifying nightmare. After Kelly (Brittany Ashworth) captures the murder of her best friend on camera, she becomes the target of a tight-knit group of four vile male friends, with a previously shared crime coverup, who will stop at nothing to destroy the evidence and anyone in their way.

According to IMDB, it's a UK studio, Evolution Pictures, with a £2.5 million budget

I'd imagine it was similar to Vertical Limit with the studio thinking, "oh this is going to be an amazing action movie!" when instead it's one of the best "so bad it's good" climbing movies ever made.

Again

I really don’t think there is a “studio” in the way you are thinking

In terms of the data you mentioned, that’s not how IMDB works

Look at the other titles the writer and director are credited with. Look up Evolution Studios UK.

There is a “studio” in the sense you can rent sound stage space at a place that offers that, that may call themselves a “studio”, and then there’s a studio in the way people commonly think of one, aka the studio, aka Warner brothers, Disney, universal, etc

The estimated budget says 2.5 million. If someone paid that much for that movie, then someone else got seriously ripped off.

Then again, I could be wrong about some of my assessments.

The only way down is up. That's why when you can't go up, you can't go down.

I think this would make an excellent flow chart...

Then obviously the only way out, is, well…out.  If the movie had an ounce of creativity, she’d find a wing suit in the ledge and she’d glide off to safety (hopefully to get revenge and justice)

Bad climbing movies are a dime a dozen.  How many wingsuit movies are there?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
