Hey there cheapskates:

I notice Powder Project, while being an awesome backcountry ski resources, does not have a used gear forum.

I am looking for used/discounted alpine ski gear (in or shipped to NC).

Does anyone have a favorite site to peruse deals on ski gear?

I’d highly recommend Trevor K, he’s so easy to work with, got my stuff in and spent a week in Vail, everything was exactly what I needed for so much less than anything else I could find!

Sierra trading post has decent deals on skis, evo.com has sales always, levelninesports has deals often too. I still haven’t crossed used gear that I couldn’t buy for cheaper new. Last year models are always on sale, it just takes a bit of patience to find the deals.  Also, you get a guarantee to return it if you don’t like it.

Being in NC is tough for shipping, but classifieds.ksl.com has a ton of backcountry gear. I've had luck with asking people to ship smaller stuff (MTB parts), so if you find something you want, it can't hurt to ask (but like any classified sites, there's a ton of scams targeting the sellers, so don't be surprised if people are apprehensive or even won't reply to a non 801 or 435 area code).

EDIT: ksl.com is Utah in case that wasn't clear
