De Quervain's Release surgery
|
Has anyone had De Quervain's release suegery? Ortho recommended to me, as my wrist is so tight to a point I lost almost all range of motion side to side (moving wrist towards thumb or pinky). I started experiencing the symptoms since last winter, got a shot in spring, had relief for quite a few months, until a month long climbing trip at the red messed in up in October again, and it's been getting worse since. If anyone has gone through this, please share your experience. Thanks! |

I had the release surgery and it worked great. My thumb was stuck in a permanent out position. I had tried everything from splints to acupuncture-- surgery worked like a charm and I went on a week long canoe trip just 2 wks after surgery. I went to an experienced doc at Seattle Hand Surgery. That was 15 years ago and haven't had any problems since. Never hurts when climbing. Good luck! |

I hope this time I caught it sooner but I'm quite concerned also as I have a course coming up. goddamn it... Any advice? Did you climb with yours at all? |
