Last year after after my last trip out the zipper split and would only engage half about 2/3 of the total zipper. With any pressure of movement it splits completely open. I have also tried to apply pressure (close) to the mouth of the zipper with no results. Any other tips? I don't think this is a warranty claim.

Are you talking about an item of clothing? As someone who sews, I can say that Zippers, while a great invention, can be quite problematic. Here is my take on zipper failure, but I have no idea if it's correct.

It's not that common for a metal zipper to fail, but if it does, it might be that the slider has lost the required tension to press the teeth of the zipper closed as it rolls past.  You could try to take a small pliers and gently tighten it? Plastic zippers fail a lot more.  Sometimes this is just microdirt on the teeth that is keeping them from closing.  Wash if you can or Clean it really well, maybe blow it or brush with one of those tools you can use to clean your keyboard.  But sometimes if its been really stressed or deformed the plastic zipper teeth just lose their shape and the zipper is just broken.  I replace zippers in my fleece jackets all the time.  A tailor can replace a zipper for you, it's not expensive.

Alas the OP has Scarpa boots which have an integral gaiter with a zipper. So replacement is not really possible (and the hazard of such boots). The advise on the zipper pull and cleaning the zipper are good. I would trying that as well as manually zipping it so to get the pull back in place.

contact Scarpa. They very well might take care of you, I've had good success with their warranty dept. And zipper lube

Tried all suggestions to no avail. I even emailed scarpa asking for the slider part#/size and nothing. Emailed YKK as well and nothing. Decided to send them in to a cobbler who was listed on Scarpas website (Carter's Boot and Repair in Bozeman), and then I get this.

No slider, and the zipper is now cut. Anyone selling an old boot that I can snag the slider from? Boot + gaiter might be the way to go to avoid this issues in the future.

WTF .... looks like they trashed your boot. Did they charge you for the "work." I would be lividly pissed. If they do not replace the boots and you were closer I would say off to small claims court. Given they are listed on Scarpa site I would be contacting them about recommending a repair center that trashes your boots.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
