Van parking over night around salt lake/Draper
|
I’ll be in Draper for 2 weeks for a paragliding course, and looking for places to post up for the nights. Not looking for open camping or shanty town, just somewhere I can literally park at night and leave in the morning. Thanks in advance! |

It will depend on the neighborhood. In mine you'd be rousted fairly quickly. Sorry, I don't know of any options for you but.... under no circumstances should you try to do this in either Big or Little Cottonwood Canyon - you will be busted, and the fine is substantial, including the possibility of jail time, due to both avalanche and watershed issues. There is the Walmart parking lot solution as a possibility: https://www.walmartlocator.com/walmart-map/ |

I’ve had luck in LDS parking lots |

by LDS are you saying the churches? |

Yes, that’s what he means. |

They charge 15$ a night I already asked! |

A couple ideas:

Walmart, sandy Momo (but loud I15 traffic), Home Depot parking lots, I actually stay in a lot of hotel parking lots as well. Never an issue there. |
