Unparallel Shoe Sizing

Does anyone have experience with how UP shoe sizing compares to La Sportiva, as well as the fit?  I’m looking to give them a shot and try something new.

I wear a 43 in my Skwamas and also a 43 in the UP Moccs - they both fit pretty snugly - would say the sizing likely depends on shoes specifically but I've found that I typically wear similar sizes in LS an UP whereas I'm typically a full size larger in Evolv shoes.

I’m usually a half size down from street in UP except the Mocc’s I’m 1.5 down from street.

I'm also 1.5 down from street shoes for the moccs. I haven't worn anything else from them.

Street sizing in what brand?  I wear anything from 11 to 12.5 depending on brand. I do know my Sportiva sizing though

I think their recommendation is 0.5 size down from street size for “performance” fit and street size for “standard” fit.

My street size is 13:

I have the Vims in 12.5. Takes some effort to put them on the first time, but fit me really well.

I also have the UpMoccs in 11.5 and 12.5. I prefer the fit of the 12.5. Squeezing my feet into the 11.5 felt like it defeated the purpose of what I wanted out of a neutral slipper (extremely comfortable training shoe). Will probably settle on a 12 whenever I decide to get another pair.

Ive got two pairs of Up Moccs. My foot brannock's just at the 9.0 mark, so my street shoe is a 9.5. Up's chart recommended a 9.5 (42.5), but I originally bought a 42 in the Moccs expecting them to stretch. They got a bit wider in the toes, but length stayed the same (just got them back from Up resole, so they're well broken in). I bought the 42.5s while the 42s we're out for resole, and prefer the 42.5s for most everything. The 42s are fine for the gym and have a little more heel tension for steep stuff. The 42.5s are way better for finger cracks though.

I wear TCs in a 42, same with Solutions.

I'd go by UP's recommended size chart based on street shoe in the future. They seem to know their sizing from my experience.

Not to hijack, but do any of you folks who prefer UPs have wide forefeet?

I hear so much about their rubber, and I’m primarily interest in the UP Laces as trad/slab shoes.

I’ve been sticking with Evolvs lately because they seem to work well for my duck feet. I wear a 10.5 in TX4s, they are snug but manageable for approaches; and an 11.5 in Generals and Kronos.

Anybody’s mocc style shoe will fit you good since they stretch so much. I have big bunions that require stretching with absolutely any shoe since part of my forefoot is abnormally wide

I really enjoy the fit of the generals at 42.5 for performance(not so much crack climbing), and my upmoccs are size 41 I believe.

Also, I realize I lied about my upmocc sizing. I am 1 size below street, not 1.5

The UP Moccs have a noticeably wider toe box than the Evolve or 5.10 Moccs I've tried.

I don't have wide feet, but I wear wide shoes. I have a Roman Toe shaped foot without any major bunions (yet, which is why I go for wide toe boxes, especially on approach shoes).

I wear TX4s in the same size as my UP Moccs (also my street shoe size, 42.5). I wear TCs a half size down (42).

Do people size the Uplace for crack climbing street shoe size, or size up for flat toes?

I have a pair of up rise pro mocc and the up laces. I got an 8.5 in up lace and 8 in up rise pro. My street shoe is a 9, but my actual toes measure to an 8.5. My next pair of up laces I will go to an 8, after complete break in there’s just slightly too much in my toes. In the up rise the 8 was great except it just didn’t hug my heel very well, but take that with a grain of salt bc I’ve had that issue with most shoes I wear so it’s probably just me. Hope that helps! Love UP shoes, they are awesome.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
