Did Arcteryx stop making the AR395a?

The FL-365 is in my opinion the best climbing harness ever made. I was super disappointed that they discontinued it, and the reviews on the C-Quence have been mixed.

I recently got one, and haven’t loved it as much as I do the FL-365. The sizing is a bit off for me - I had to size down because my normal size was massive on me, and that puts me at the larger range of the smaller size, which can feel just a bit restrictive when walking arlundThe gear loops on the C-Quence are just a bit too far back, and they are pretty light and flimsy- I liked the slightly burlier gear loops on the FL-365. Of course, I do like the big gear loop sizes, and the 4 ice clipper slots. I truly don’t know why more manufacturers don’t do that (looking at you BD - what a harness the solution guide would be with some bigger gear loops and ice clippers).
Overall, the C-Quence is useable, and comfortable to belay, fall and hang in, and is one of the few harnesses that meet my features desires. But it just lacks the perfectness that I found in the FL365 - it is a bit more packable, so maybe that will be nice for alpine days.

I don’t see many c-quences out in the wild, and I dare you to find a picture of any of their pro athletes using it. I even messaged one athlete about it, and heard that they prefer their FL365.

Curious to hear about the new designs being tested, and hope they go back to something closer to the FL365. The Konseal looks like a disappointing step back away from a harness that can do everything, without ice clipper slots or a large rear gear loop.

Anyway rant over, and if anyone else has ideas on a perfect do everything harnesses with modern, wide, light to no padding waist/legs, large gear loops, 4 ice clipper slots, and ideally fixed legs (no buckles), feel free to make recommendations.

Why would they do that?  Cquence line is less than 2 years old.  Doesn't make sense.

Because it's shit, the leg loops on it don't make any sense

Oh seriously, they kept those horrible removable gear loop plastic covers? The ones on the C quence don't come off which is so much less annoying

I really need to retire my FL-365, I really wish they still made that one. I’ve been checking periodically over the last year or two and haven’t seen the AR-365 which I’m willing to settle for. Finally emailed and they said they would be adding some to stock soon. It’s unfortunate that they don’t have a notify me when available option. I don’t see why they don’t have that. I guess I’ll just keep checking back periodically.

That's kindy funny. In Europe, it is almost in every second shop you see...

I’ve replaced my old sl340 with a cquence and do not regret it. The fit is identical (size M), the harness is light and comfortable, the gear loops are easily accessible. I cinch down the waist almost to the max in summer (basically climbing naked). The leg loops accommodate my super average sport climber thighs perfectly and provide enough range from Lycra to multiple layers.

Tbh I don’t really understand the hate, the cquence is not an unbelievable upgrade, but it’s nice and definitely not worse than the older models (fl365 and sl340). I also see quite a lot of people here in Europe using it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
