I like a light weight boot and will be doing mostly summer and maybe some fall/spring climbing. Looking heavily at the new Aequilibrium but also the Trango tech. Any advice? I’m going to get the nepals sooner or later for technical and colder climbs.

I have a pair of Trango tech leathers for sale - size 43. Lightly used. Pm me if interested. Nice boots.

I got my Aequilibrium LTs last week, haven’t climbed in them yet but like them more than the Trango Towers I had before. Compared to those they are wider in the front with even more rocker and a little less stiff. Very comfortable to walk in and features look great although a little flashy color wise. Compared to my TX4 mids they are not quite as wide but I wear the same size, and the Aequilibrium is much stiffer.

I haven’t tried the Tech but the leather looks like a great boot if it fits you and I think it falls in between the TX4 mid and the Aequilibrium in terms of purpose. I don’t think it’s a true 3-season boot but would get the job done on most lower-48 routes in the summer, be more nimble on rock plus cheaper. The Aeq is more of a ‘real’ mountain boot that excels on snow like trango, charmoz, etc. with some tech to make it feel less clunky so I think it really depends on your objectives.

Awesome I appreciate the help, I might go with them because most of what I do is single day or two day stuff for now.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
