Changing Cyborg Pro from dual to mono
|
I want to try mono points this season. I was wondering if people trim the anti balling plate on the front of the crampon or just go without when using monos. It is molded for use with dual points. |

I trimmed the anti balling plate and never had a problem with snow build-up. As soon as you go to mono point on the cyborgs you’ll start breaking the bolts that keeps the front point on. Change it every season or even twice a season if your mixed climbing. After awhile you’ll realize there’s MUCH better mono-point crampons out there and you’ll upgrade. |

Thanks for the reply. Which monos do you prefer? |

I modified the anti balling plate and got them put back together. I’m anxious to see how monos feel compared to duals. I guess I’ll have to get on some easy mixed to see how that feels as well. I’m more of a pure ice guy but would always be open to expand my knowledge base. |

yikes…now I am freaked out about that bolt… |

Just get some darts or g20s for the sexiest mono points out there. |
