Just had a great long weekend of choss-wrangling in the Valley of the Gods, UT. While I was there, I clipped and rapped off some pitons that I found questionable (Not pounded in to the eye, anymore) and did a piton bolt ladder where one was missing. This has inspired me to get a hammer and make some of these situations safer for everyone. I need a hammer to do so though. Who's got one they're willing to let go? PS- for the most part, I'm a free climber and do 99% of pitches free, so I'm kind of a noob when it comes to hammering pins in. Got some research ahead of me to do it properly and would appreciate any guidance/advice.

A. Buy a cheap hammer from home depot and tie a cord to it (personal preference is a bungie/elastic cord like an ice leash).  Cheap place to start.

B. Grivel Thor.  Light, will require a few more swings but you won't feel it on your waist.

C. Skip to the ultimate, the best,  the last hammer you'll ever own. Get yourself a Dammerr and never look back.  Jesus died for our sins, and if you get something besides a Dammerr, he may have to come back and do it all over again. One swing and you'll understand.

Another bit of advice is get a holster of some kind right away, even if it's for the home depot hammer.

Skip to 8:00 if you wanna just see pins get driven and hear the quintessential noise they should make. Otherwise watch it all because why not.

Shut up you, I'm trying to artificially pump the value of this Thor hammer I have before selling it.
