Good Gear stores In Los Angeles or Fresno areas for rock shoes???
|
Headed to Fresno area for a friends wedding this weekend, also spending a few days in the San Bernardino area as well. Our in store rock shoe options here in phoenix are extremely limited and I'd love to find a store while I'm out there to try on and size some other shoes I haven't had the opportunity to try yet. Maybe Tenaya, Unparallel, ocun, etc if I can find a good place. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to check for good shoe selections? |

Nomad Ventures in Joshua Tree has one of the better selections if you are ever in that area, they had a couple Unparallel shoes last time I checked. Otherwise I think your options are pretty much limited to REI and local climbing gyms. There’s an REI in Rancho Cucamonga and most locations carry a few Tenaya models (I remember seeing Mundakas and Mastias at some locations). Flowstone Climbing is a bouldering gym in Redlands which is near the Unparallel headquarters, might be worth calling to see what they carry. They are listed as a distributor on the UP website. |

There is (or at least was when I was there last) a Nomad Ventures in Escondido as well (North of San Diego) that has a decent selection. They have a store in Temecula too, but it's not as stocked. I hear the one in J tree is the biggest one but can't confirm that, as I've never been to that one. Not exactly on your way but thought I'd throw it out there. @Sam, 5.10 use to be in Redlands. Is it at the same place? |

If you're flying into LAX you can go check out the REI on Rosecrans near there. Because it's got a couple climbing gyms without a mile or two they actually carry some selection. They also have a "garage sale" permanently going on next-door with good prices on returned climbing shoes. |

Fresno REI has climbing shoes. You’d have to call to ask about what’s in their selection but I imagine it’d be a quick phone call, they don’t have but maybe a dozen-ish options if I remember right. |
