I’m visiting my parents for a week or so. Want to go check out the CDM boulders. Obviously don’t need a partner but could be fun to tackle some boulder  problems with someone. Also open to gym climbing or getting outside on bolts if there is any of that around.

Ortega Falls has some nice toproping, worth spending a day. In general, OC is not exactly a climbing destination :-)

If you're in that neck of the woods, it's definitely worth checking out.  Go on weekday afternoon after 4 p.m. after the beach crowd has left.  Check the tide tables too since the water will be lapping up against the rock if it's high.  Tues. and Thurs. eves generally are the most popular evenings.  You should have some company if you go then.  Don't forgot your piece of carpet to wipe the sand off your feet.  I always just grabbed a small car mat.

thanks - checked it out yesterday! i actually really enjoyed it. such a unique experience and there were some young climbers hanging out to show me the fun routes. truly nothing like anything else i've climbed before! so interesting having to wait for the tides to roll out to get on the cave routes.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
