Edelrid Tommy Caldwell Duotec 9.6mm Rope Durability?

Does anyone here have experience with the Edelrid TC Duotec 9.6 Rope (non dry version)? I'm looking to get a new rope and I came across a pretty good price on this rope. All the reviews for the non dry rope seem good, but when reading reviews for the dry version, a decent amount of people are complaining about the durability. I'm wondering if the non dry version also has durability issues, and if I should just get another Mammut rope that I know i'll like. I'm attracted to this TC one though because I would like to have a bi-pattern. Any insight here is greatly appreciated.

It’s a tank and really stiff. But you can beat the hell out of it

I had one too and it was also a tank for me. When I got it I wasn't expecting much as I always had Sterling or Mammut before, but this TC rope took a lot of abuse and outlasted any of my other ones. Especially at the price point, I think it's a good purchase.

Did 40 pitches of aid (leading and jugging the second) using the non-dry version.  Got some fraying, but most ropes would see the same wear.  I wouldn't categorize it as stiff.  It's a normal rope in both stiffness and durability.

Don’t like mine. It got really stiff really early

Sweet, glad to hear its held up well. How would you say it handles compared to your mammut ropes? Any big issues with kinking? Yeah its 25% off right now so I think it would be a good buy.

I got one this summer and love it. I think it handles great, it seems really durable, it's my first bipattern rope which I'm loving. Got nothing bad to say about it.

I don't recall any kinking, and it lasted much longer than the Mammut told I had had previously.

My partner and I used this rope all summer for multi pitch trad and some sport. I bet it has close to 100 pitches on it. It has held up incredible well. It does get a little kinky if it isn't rapped on for a few weekends but everything comes out and its back to perfect. Plus, you can't beat the highly visible bi-pattern when looking for the middle. I would recommend this rope for sure.

Thanks all for the insight on this rope, just ordered one. It seems like overall it should be a pretty good rope for me. In case anyone else is interested, the 60 meter is 40% off at Moosejaw with the code MMMPIE. Total was $120+Tax and free shipping, at that price it was pretty hard to pass up.

If I was broke, cheap or new to the sport, I would absolutely take advantage of that...very good deal on a rope many people like.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
