Just moved to Taos and looking for weekday evening and weekend partners. Lead 5.9 trad and 5.10+ sport on a good day. I’m old(er) so some days are not as good and I’m happy to follow. Tried out El Rito today and that was pretty  fun. Willing to travel on the weekend outings.

Hello Peter, I am also new to Taos and am looking for others to get out with.. I'll have some free weekdays and weekends. I move into my home on 9/12, I'll contact you mid-month if you are interested. Don't know if you have been to Tres Piedras, but it is a beautiful area with amazing granite.

Hi Joseph,

I just got out to Tres Piedras over the long weekend. I really like that area. Also got over to El Rito which was pretty fun. Please reach out when you are settled in. My phone/text number is 704-302-7369.

You guys might consider joining the NM Mountain Club’s Technical Climbing Section. The Club has been active since 1952.

We post regular outings in NM and beyond. The cost is $30 a year to join and that gets you access to all hiking, backpacking, camping, snowshoeing, canyoneering, ice climbing and rock climbing outings which are managed via two Meetup.com groups for RSVPing. Join online: www.nmmountainclub.org

The Climb Section has two outings scheduled for this weekend… a scramble up Cabezon Peak in the Rio Puerco which I’m leading on Sunday and a beginner focused single pitch trad skill outing in the Sandia Mountains on Saturday.

Other upcoming trips on the calendar are a weekend to Capulin Canyon in Jemez, an exploratory weekend to a crag near Manassa, Colorado, a weekend to Jacks Canyon outside Winslow AZ and a week long trip to Red Rock in Vegas over Thanksgiving.

Other climbing day trips and skill sessions get posted regularly as well. We’re a relatively active group. If you join and like it, please consider becoming a trip leader.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
