I see that by being a member of AAC, you can also get gear discounts. It mentions that the different membership levels can get different discounts. Does anyone know if that is actually true and how much of a difference the percentages are? I already bought rescue insurance through another program, so I would just like to get the basic membership for the AAC discounts, but if the upper membership levels offer higher discount rates, I may consider that. Thanks!

It’s okay but not phenomenal. Sometimes they have specials which can make it better. Lots of stuff out of stock. Expect to be gouged on shipping. A lot of the better deals, adidas/5.10, la sportiva, etc are no longer on there.
I have much better luck just buying stuff used on here!
The discounts are decent. However, if you’re on the fence about getting a membership consider the outdoor insurance they offer. That’s the real membership perk and the main reason I renew every year. Though I hope I never need to use it.
I have the same question as Y L - specifically, are there differences in gear discounts between the various AAC membership levels? I'm familiar with the standard AAC membership level and the discounts that come with it, but it is noted in the discounts description that discount levels may vary:
*Member discounts may vary by membership level and are subject to change at any time.
Perhaps this is just to allow for future differentiation of benefits by membership level?
