Here is what they generally  look like -

I am a little concerned about the long term reliability of some components - those two lower connectors look like extremely highly stressed members, and they are made from plastic.

Would love to hear what you think.

I got this camping chair last year for taking on climbing trips and I absolutely love it. They pack really small and are easy to set up but there is no reason to pay the price of a Helinox or an REI one.  Take a look at the one I linked because it comes with a pocket and a cup holder and  everyone in my group is jealous that mine has pockets.

FWIW, I got a kids camp chair from Walmart that's basically just like the standard larger version you see at softball games etc, but smaller. For backpacking it is a little bulky, but as a small chair for car camping etc, it is very packable and comfortable enough. Especially for $5.

The top connector blew out on mine

Combined replies -

Steven  - Thanks for the link to the listing on Amazon. The price is not upsetting, but some reviews complain about durability - mostly fabric ripping.
Jeremy - Nice idea to use kid's camp chair, but I liked that helionox/flexlite are an acceptable weight to carry to crag - I really liked sitting in comfort. And, it packs quite small. I have a collapsable 3-legged stool that I used before, but that thing is not comfortable.
Jeff - are you talking about connection between post and fabric?

The fabric itself. I sewed it back together a couple times. Just keeps blowing right on out. I’m not much of a sewer though, but I try

Test sit in them as some are more supportive/comfortable than others. The shock cord in friend's chair blew out.

Love it.  I’m 6ft and 160lbs and it is very comfy

How is it holding up?

I just bought the Helinox one. Only have done 7 days in the Boundary Waters so far. Definitely lighter than the REI one which my partner has had for a couple of years. The REI one has clip loops which is a feature the Helinox one doesn’t have that is surprisingly disappointing. My partner thinks the REI one is slightly more comfortable, I think they are about the same. Can’t speak to durability that much but her REI one is still kicking. They are both ultralight chairs but seem durable enough for an UL product.

I've had two of these Amazon knock-off ones for a few years and they don't show any real signs of wear. I love them and find them more comfortable than the average camp chair. tinyurl.com/ygftlbqc

We have an Amazon knock off that we take out craggin. I’m 6’3” 200lbs and it’s holding up just find. Gotta figure how many factories in China are setup to make those chairs. They are all likely made in the same factory on the same machines with possibly slight material differences.

did the same thing.  Got a two-pack of nearly identical chairs for like, $30 and they've been great living in my car.  Pack down super small, could easily be carried in to the crag (smaller a water bottle) and as you said, they're all made in the same factory.

Love my Big Agnes Skyline UL. I have friends with the Helinox & REI versions & the Big Agnes seems studier & more supportive than both
