Campsaver order??

I ordered a CAMP Jasper harness from Campsaver, late Julyish. The delivery date was mid to late August. Recently, that delivery date got changed to unknown. Does this mean my order is in some kind of zombie limbo? I'll never see this? Or might it still happen?

The harness is the closest I could find to my current one. It's totally fine, functionally, but getting kinda beat up. I like it, and I'm lazy, so I won't bother hunting for something else, just yet. Just wondering. 

And yes, I could call them, but annoying MP is more fun.

Those old model Katana Vs are a more pressing concern. I have two pair, so hopefully I can keep them going a long time.

I had some weird experiences with camp saver last time I bought from them.  I bought an item which was listed as "in stock" but it took them weeks to get it to me, but I did get it in time for my trip.  8 months later, out of nowhere, they randomly sent me another of the same item. 

I'm now the proud owner of matching his-and-hers Metolius poop haul bags, lol.

camp saver is super annoying these days.  they never have what they are offering...

Have ordered from them way too many times. If something’s back ordered, not sure I’ve ever actually received it. I’ve had some items dropped from orders, some they contacted me about some they didn’t. Anything bigger value they usually tell you.

It’s odd, their regular items on orders 9.5/10 times is great, their back orders are always horrible. Customer service is usually decently good if you get in contact. I wouldn’t bank on it getting you your item, but it’ll at least give you an update and let you cancel it if desired

Thanks, all! Guess I'll have to suck it up and call them...or just wait and see? They didn't claim backorder, even, just...shipment date unknown. WTF is that supposed to mean for the order itself?

I've had back orders before, everyone has. Nothing wrong with that, it's simply not in stock where you ordered, but is in stock somewhere.

The best customer service ever, on a backorder? When I bought a rowing machine, right as covid craziness hit and every bit of anything exercise was gone. Instantly. I was fast enough to get on a waitlist. Emails arrived regularly with updates. They put them together in Vermont, but parts came from China. As soon as they could, they did what they could. Eventually, I was on the production list, and, my erg shipped exactly as I was told. 

The other super fun one was when I bought the Edelrid TC rope. It was brand new, super popular, and mine was back ordered all the way through to Germany! Purchased through my little local gear shop.

But this? 

Not so great. 

If I can, I might try to contact CAMP, too. See if these even exist.

Like I said, not a biggy. The harness has plenty of life in it still.

But my Katanas... I'm gonna have to shoe shop again, methinks.

Last time I ordered from campsaver was the last time I ordered from campsaver. It took almost a month before my tracking information was updated. Ultimately took over a month to get a pair of shoes.

I cancelled. Got hold of a super helpful customer service dude, easily. He checked on it, and they had no eta whatever from CAMP, so it seems likely these harnesses are just not around anymore.
