Recently heard Jason Kehl talking about climbing with a cargo net in lieu of / with pads. Anybody use cargo nets for bouldering? I'm due for a new pad but was considering this to save room in my car/home setup.

This is what he was talking about

How many places that you boulder at will have stuff in the right spots to securely hang that at all 4 corners?

I guess could be a useful solution for a home wall - cheaper than huge mats- or that guy that was trying to figure out something under his deck. But outdoor bouldering almost certainly no, right?

I heard that podcast and watched some videos of him using it. I don’t care how practical it is, I want one just because it would be so rad to use. That’s like the definition of play.

Thanks for the link to it, I’ll have to add that to my list. I’ll bring that, a trampoline for the ultimate brickyards start and a fan and usher in the new era of bouldering.

Does anyone on here have first hand experience with climbing above these nets? I have a few projects that are great climbing, but high-angle talus below.  Big pondos at all corners…

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
