Resoles in the DC area
|
Hi all, are there any options local to the DC/DMV area to get shoes resoled? Just sent my shoes off to Colorado again to get resoled, but figured it'd been a while since i'd looked if there are any local options. Just did a quick google search and did not find any. I know there is (used to be?) someone at NRG that does shoe resoles but was wondering if anyone does it around here. Thanks! |

I've been looking into this as well since I have a pair of shoes that I'll need to send out here soon. I did find Crescent Resoler out of Charlottesville, but I don't know anything about them... |

Onsight Resoles in NC does great work. Not DC but closer than CO... |

I got a pair done at Crescent, was not happy with them. Workmanship was fine, but I asked for, and paid extra for C4. He kept trying to talk me into “DOT” rubber, which I guess is generic. What came back was slick as shit, was sliding off everything at the gym and on rock. Gave them to a friend who said the rubber was unusable. Not a fan. |

I would stick with more reputable resolers who stand behind their work. While I’m sure onsight resoles has provided lots of people with great service the pair he did for me delaminated in well under 50 pitches in a couple weeks. This is not the slightest bit of an exaggeration. While this does happen from time to time the difference is that companies like The Rubber Room, Rock & Resole and even small guys like the Peach Cobbler all stand behind their work and will promptly repair defective resoles they did for free. Onsight does not stand behind their work and has provided others I know with the same crappy repairs. When I politely reached out not even asking for a refund but just trying to confirm that he will stand behind his work on the other shoes of mine he had in his possession he did nothing more than follow through with a complete garbage response and sent my other shoes back without servicing them. I had sent them two months prior when given a 3 week turn around time and he provided excuses as to why he received them late. He gave me with the worst customer service I have ever received from the climbing community and I would never recommend his work to anyone. I could care less how many people come out of the woodwork and proclaiming how great he is. I am a small business owner as well and stand behind my services like a professional. |
