Been doing some research to see if I can find any info on the areas. I found some old mountain project forums but those didn't seem to offer much info on the areas. I am mostly interested if anyone has info on what the approach to Big Lost cove cliff is like. I would like to try to climb the 4-pitch 5.8 arete there at some point.

I plan on scouting these areas out soon, so if anyone would like to tag along fell free to send me an email or reply here.

Hey Adam, just an FYI, climbing at Big Lost Cove is currently under peregrine falcon closure until August 15th, looks like that includes hiking the trail that runs along the top of the cliff line as well.  I'm not sure on the approach beta to the bottom of the cliff, could potentially be open for exploring as long as you aren't climbing.  Shoot me a message if you want to check it out sometime, I'm not too far from the area and wouldn't mind scouting it out myself.

Ah I see that now. Thanks for the heads-up. It looks like just the climbing routes themselves are closed and the hiking is not. I would be happy to explore the area one weekend. I will send you a PM in the next day or so and maybe you could show me the area.

I never had a chance to check it out. Send me an email, but I might be free one day during next week!

If I'm not mistaking it's a rap in climb out kinda deal. As for route beta I got nothing for you but do know who to ask.

I’ve hiked up and down that area, but haven’t climbed there. I know the climbers trails and some big boulders below the area also. Would definitely be up to check it out

As soon as the peregrine closure lifts August 15, I am planning to make a weekend trip to scout the routes and try the Big Arete. I will post an update closer to the date and reach out to individuals to see who is free and interested to climb.

Sounds awesome...I'm definitely down to check it out. Free almost every weekend.

I’ve been trying to find info on these climbs after a backpacking trip where we camped on top of Little Lost Cove Cliffs and I spotted some bolts but have been unable to find any info on the routes (or approach not from the top) Would love any info on these cliffs!

What Mark said. Also, if you venture down that way anyone should be able to find the rap eventually. Took me several goes but that half the fun, right?
