Hi! Looking for a climbing partner that knows more than me and is willing, happy, and excited to teach me stuff and help/push me get to the next level in my climbing.
I currently climb top rope and boulder, but I want to get into sport and eventually trad. Would also love to get more practice with anchor building and set up. Recently started climbing 10As and 10Bs in the gym and climbed one 10A at Texas Canyon awhile ago lol I hope to continue to increase my grades! Bouldering I’m climbing V2s in the gym. Outside is another story lol Ever since I sprained my ankle, I don’t go as hard with bouldering outside. I can top rope and lead belay, and I have a crash pad.
During the week I go climbing in the evenings at the gym or outside. Can climb on weekends and would love to go on trips near by (Alabama Hills, Joshua Tree, Holcomb etc.) and afar (Yosemite, Red Rocks).
For some of the rudimentary fundiments, I might suggest hiring a guide to teach these, sick as gear placement and anchor building. I have mentored a few ladies in JTree and find it more enjoyable for them and I if they already have these basic skills. It is too hot out here now, but in the Fall I recommend hiring "Hobo" Greg to get some of that knowledge and a bunch of stoke on the sport, in general.
If/when you do head out to JTree next season, feel free to hit me up. Climb some winter nights, but mostly weekend climbing during the school year(I'm a teacher). But, I have a large(15) group of climbing buds, so someone is ALWAYS climbing something.
Thanks, Carey! I actually went out with a guide from Clifferhanger a couple of months ago. It was great! He taught me the basics of anchor building and set up. I just need more practice! I'm taking a course next month to refresh myself as well. I've met Hobo Greg. He's so nice! I'll definitely be back climbing in Jtree come the fall. I'm friends with Todd Gordon! I'll definitely hit you up next time I'm there!
