Gear Storage picture Mega Thread

Figured it'd start a thread for everyone to post up pictures of their gear storage solutions, not only for others to check out, but to also give members of the community different ideas. I know I debated a few different solutions, but ultimately decided on peg board. I think I have about $30 in materials total from the local big box hardwear store.

Let's see yours!

I like collecting gear but this amount of stuff gives me anxiety.

I am normally a clear bin guy. But COVID made me bored so I tried something new.

All right, can’t resist.  Wasn’t gonna “gear flex” on this one (as Allen pointed out, there are many past threads), but what the hey.

The “solution” is a combo of all of the above - wall hangings, bins, keep regular/frequently used stuff for the given season in your crag pack so it’s ready to go,  but for myself, the single most convenient item is a big table in the center for sorting/cleaning/repacking gear.  I carpeted the table mostly for the scuba gear, ski gear, and other gear down at the other end of the room (it’s a 16’ foot table/bench).

Can always tell what gear I haven’t been using lately because it’s hanging nicely over my gear repair desk on 8” timberloks, or in a clear bin...  Usually because it’s crazy convenient, racked up slings just get tossed up onto big garage gear hooks.

Curious, why so many pulleys???

Hah.  Fair question.  It’s nice to have a ton of them when you’re teaching mechanical advantage in swiftwater rescue classes, or doing strainer removal on a river section.  That’s the only time most of those come out of their bin.

Was going to build a proper cabinet until I saw lumber prices. Simple pegboard it is. Still have some ropes, shoes, and webbing in a bin, but this does super well and was cheap. As a compulsive “let me completely pack and unpack my climbing bag 4 times a week from each climbing day” person, this has been a godsend so far

Nothing else I have is organized enough to be worth showing but I feel like I got pretty good use out of the space on my pegboards

Great use of space, but ... you have 4 gri-gris and 0 ATCs?

UL Camalots and multiple full sets of Totems too.

Mostly light to unused.

All for tick'n 5.8 sport.

I'm thinking way more disposable income and way less climbing than a guide - lol.

Well now I'm just feeling attacked hahaha. Not wrong though. Definitely not a guide but I have the disposable income, a penchant for buying shiny things (it's actually a problem), and am really big on taking groups of friends climbing. Got big dreams for my climbing career and my experience has yet to catch up with my gear but I'm working on it! :)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
