the worst climbing related instagram ad i’ve seen (today)
i’ve gotten two variations of this supplement ad, both times ‘going for it’ well under a single draw. the other one was worse, some dude gripped out of his mind while hanging on the rope. stay tuned for tomorrow’s horrible ad! |
Dang, that dude is sick, holding by barely 4 fingers off a jug. Is that ads about some king of pyramidal money scheme? |
yeah, some sort of pyramid thing selling garbage to your friends. |
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Wc3eTda7GQA I still think the best of all time was that massage gun advert on Instagram. Going to try and link it. It’s like a bingo game of “what is wrong with this picture”. Truly the best example of not knowing your audience. |

Oh I see that guy around- he's a pretty good climber tbh. |
My phone crashed so I lost the screenshot I took of it but a little while ago I saw an insta add for RevolutionRace (a brand mostly copying designs from other clothing brands and selling it for less) that featured a pic of a guy ascending what seemed to be a very steep snow slope wearing trail runners and nothing more to aid him than a couple of trekking poles lodged extremely deep into the hard snow. The only thing the add people forgot was to adjust the horizon and the clouds floating in the background... Now, if this was a brand known for its tongue in cheek marketing then it could all have been in good fun. But alas, not so much. |

At least FNX is keeping the “toproping from a quickdraw” theme consistent. I once was recruited to be an “ambassador” for Encyclopedia Brittanica”. Still am, but that door to door gets disheartening over the years. |

It's not these ads specifically but climbing being used in many forms of advertising, to me, more generally. And because I have a very high standard for what I consider good climbing photography (cough cough, butt-shots) I have made a thread about it. Are you NOT entertained?! |
A bit late to the thread but I thought this ad was funny. I mean, what is that bottom draw even clipped in to? |

Very clever, rise above student debt. what an ad. |
