New to Denver. Looking and advice on gyms.
|
Moving to Denver next week. Looking for feedback on the different gyms around the city. I prefer top rope and sport to bouldering. Also which gyms are best to meet partners or have the best auto belays? |
|
FYI Earthtreks/Movement gyms do not have auto-belays. Those can be found at Rockn’ & Jamn’, as well as Boulder Rock Club. Not sure about the others. While it’s fun to compare, the most important thing is proximity to where you live. All the gyms in the area are fine. Time lost to driving around is time not climbing. Others will have to comment about meeting people. |

These 5 gyms are covered under one membership: Earthtreks Englewood Earthtreks Golden Movement Baker (Denver) Movement RiNo (Denver, bouldering only) Movement Boulder

I'm also an Earth Treks/Movement member and that's what I'd recommend for most options for the money. Meeting people at these gyms is really easy, almost everyone is friendly and plenty of people are looking for partners. There are also meetups posted online. Like Victor says, there are no auto belay so if you're climbing alone you're bouldering. Ubergrippen is a nice gym with a bunch of autobelays, but it only has one location so this would be a good choice if you live east of the city. |

ET is great for having options and finding partners, The Spot is mostly bouldering, has an amazing bouldering facility in Denver, and the Louisville location is focused on roped climbing with at least 5 auto belays. I prefer the setting at the spot, but almost all of my climbing friends climb at ET so that’s where I climb. the spot has 4 main locations: Boulder 20k sq ft Louisville 25k sq ft Denver 30k sq ft Golden 12k sq ft? |
