Harness with Larger Leg Loops Compared to Waist?
|
Hi everyone, I've looked around at a handful of harnesses from the big companies, and the sizing isn't very accommodating for smaller waists in relation to larger thighs. Does anyone know of a brand or harness with leg loops that tend to run larger? |

Have you already tried women's harnesses? They are typically designed that way, along with a longer rise. If that doesn't work, 4-buckle harnesses tend to have few sizes and a large adjustment range. Eg Petzl Corax size 1 waist down to 25in, leg loops up to 23in. If that doesn't work, you can get a custom harness from Misty Mountain. |

Try adjustable leg loops. |

If you can't find anything that works, you could mix and match leg loops and waist belts from two different sizes if the leg loops are removable(which most are) |

I have this same issue. Misty Mountain offers custom harnesses. You can get different sized waist and leg loops. |

My wife runs into the same issue. She's also shorter so the typical women's harnesses with the higher rise dig into her ribs. She has used the Edelrid Jayne for years and loved it! The leg loops have a lot of adjustability. |

I'm a guy but have the same problem, really the only options for me are adjustable leg loops and dual-buckle adjustable waist. Current trad harness is the BD Momentum Dual Speed (DS) and I have the waist almost all the way tightened and the legs an inch or 2 from the largest setting. Another plus of the 2 waist buckles is your gear loops stay symmetric relative to your belay loop. Edit: looks like they call it the Momentum 4S now, looks unisex but only comes in black. |
