Two different sized feet?
|
My feet differ in size by a solid half size, and I’m not sure what to do about finding shoes that fit? I’ve tried on a bunch, and of course one size will either be too tight on one foot or too loose on the other. Anyone else have this problem? Should I upsize or downsize or? |

I've had some luck buying both sizes and selling the other left over mismatched pair, here in the Marketplace. |

Right foot is solid 13, left foot 12.25, any opposites out there? |

I have the same issue. While Evolv doesn’t allow split sizing anymore, they will stretch them for free. When I buy them, I size down a half size and have them stretch the left shoe the half size up, achieves the same result consistently and doesn’t cost them unnecessary money for split sizing. I’ve done this with 3 pairs now and no issue. |

Shoe stretching mostly stretches the rands in my experience which makes them bulge over the sole which really limits quality edging abilities. I just try and find simple soft leather shoes that really do shape to the foot after a month of break in. It still sucks. Butora is a brand I need to try, lots of happy customers out there. |

I've heard that Baturo splits sizes but can't confirm it. My feet are also a half size different. Looking for my mirror-twin, I have L40 & R39.5. For my comfy all day shoes I just got to my larger foot but recently I wanted a pair of new performance shoes. I bite the bullet and bought two pair. Yeah it's expensive but it's the best decision I made. I also found a great resoler and will use them before the new shoes get shot. It's way cheaper to resole my split pair of shoes than buy two new pairs. |

Butora is the answer. If you order directly from them, they’ll do split sizing for a ~$25 additional fee. In my opinion they have the best sizing options in the business; they offer nearly all their shoes in both high and low volume fits, do split sizing, and have half sizes all the way up to 14 (I’m a 12.5/13.5 split). Sizing shoes by mail is a bit of a PITA; I usually order several pairs and return all but the ones I want, which is no problem but is a significant chunk of change at order. You can call them and get someone who actually knows a ton about sizing across different brands, which can take a lot of the guesswork out if you know what fits you. Alternatively if a local shop has Butoras, just figure out what sizes fit each foot and then order the split size from the Butora site. |

New climber here, I had a terrible injury when I was 6. Lawnmower took off my left foot a few inches past my toes. Doctors saved it and re attached it however it’s way smaller and not shaped like a normal foot. So when I started climbing I bought one set of shoes and quickly learned I was going to have to buy 2 pairs. It’s been a nightmare trying to find a shoe they will fit my foot, most are too narrow when I size down. Finally found a pair that works, it’s not perfect but it works and gave me a little more confidence with my left foot. I went with Scarpa origins, and so far they have worked out. My big toe still isn’t all the way up into the end of the toe box but it was the best fit I was able to find when it comes to width. Good luck in your shoe search! |
