Roof cargo box that fits both Organic Big and Regular Pad for Subaru Outback

Just wondering if anyone has had any luck finding a roof cargo box for a Subaru Outback that can fit both an Organic Big Pad and a Regular pad. From looking at various dimensions between Thule, Yakima, etc... it looks like this is not possible? Would only a Big Pad even fit in something like the Yakima SkyBox 16? Thanks.

It would be just speculation, but given the relative small interior footprint most cargo boxes tend to have relative to their overall size, I'd be surprised if any were wide enough to fit a full size crash pad. I've been looking at them for a while now, but never considered there may be one that would fit a crash pad.

A box that would hold even just a single Organic big pad would be pretty ludicrous in size. I have always simply strapped big pads to the roof if they won't fit inside the vehicle. If you don't have a roof rack the strap can go between the door and the vehicle interior. This is obviously not perfect, but it works fine.

I use a hitch mount basket to fit two large organics plus several sketch pads

something like:

and just strap it down with ratchet tie down straps

+1 to the above hitch mount. This is the way to go. If you are worried about rain just cover with a tarp. Also thieves go after shiny metal things not blocks of foam.

We used to stack our crash pads on the roof rack of our subi. It was a great way to make a slow car even slower.

Similar but not quite what you’re asking - a metolius triple pad will fit in a roof box as when folded as the width is smaller than a normal pad that folds in half.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
