Has anyone seen or used these? https://www.hilti.com/content/dam/urgent-folder/w1/pdf/anchors/kwik-bolts/KB-TZ2_Technical%20Supplement.pdf

Just saw that the KB-TZ and KB3 are being phased out and replaced with the TZ2 (see TZ/KB3 both referenced as being passed out, but never in the same report). Glancing at the spec sheet, these have a lower rated tension strength, although they advertise a 20% increase.

looks like these would not be removable by spinning since they have a grooved cone/expansion clip that lock together.

These have been available outside of North America for quite some time as the HST3 and the HST3-R (A4 stainless). I’ve placed a number of the 10x100mm HST3-R and liked how quickly they achieved torque, quite similar to the KB3.  I would bet that they have very similar strength to the KB3 as the dimensions of the stud body haven’t significantly changed. It’s essentially a kb3 with a new expansion clip. The stainless versions don’t have the grooves on the cone and will spin out like any other wedge anchors. I botched a HST3-R last summer and it spun and pulled just fine. It seems likely that the carbon steel version will also spin and pull considering the clip looks like it will be free from the grooves once you tap it in.

Sourcing M10x anything has been a PITA for North America.  Mungo is another quality option I see pop up but never can find US shipping.  Super annoying because they're stupid cheap for quality A4 in Europe.  How did you find them?

I've actually a trade account with Mungo ( I sell their resin) but there was a reason I didn't go for their wedge anchors but I can't remember what it was. Some of the bolts I tried in those days where machined threads not rolled and it might have been that or possibly the price, like I said I can't remember the details.

The market for A4 stuff in Europe is really hard, there are guys dumping it out at profit margins I don't want to get involved in!

Some of the internet based dealing I haven't quite got my head around, this week I bought 2 rubber O rings for the princely sum of €0.16c + postage. Nicely bagged with printed product label, 2 sides of installation info, 3 pages of paperwork inc free return sticker and a nice cardboard box. How does that work?

I had a friend bring back a box from a work trip to the UK. The price was dirt cheap as far as 316 goes, something like £100 for a box of 50. Kinda surprising considering the brand.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.

Fixed Hardware: Bolts & Anchors
