Dyneema sleeves for Offwidths

I'm considering getting some dyneema, cut-resistant sleeves for climbing offwidths in a t-shirt. My only concern is whether they would get too hot or not. Does anyone have experience with a product like this or have any recommendations for similar sleeves that won't shred too badly? Do running ones hold up okay?

Picture for reference.

Dynema is usually very slippery.

I've seen folks using these: https://www.mcdavidusa.com/collections/hex/products/hex-shooter-arm-sleeve-single and other MTB sleeves

The ones for biking/running do not hold up to OW crack climbing at all (as they're normally pretty thin and stretchy) but they're cheap enough that I've bought a bunch at a time and then trash them after the wall trashes them. But I no longer use them or will roll them up and out of the way for OW because they haven't seemed to help with preventing abrasion anyways.

Thanks for the suggestion Amie, those ones look like they’d work.

Dave I’m sure you’re right.

you could always buy someone's old used R1 and cut just the sleeves off to use with a tank top or T-shirt

How do these hold up? I have some patagucci sun hoodies that definitely don't hold up to OW climbing

So, I worked in a steel mill once, and we had to wear these cut proof kevlar sleeves.  Brought them to my OW game. They are amazing. You can wear a t-shirt,  they don't hold any heat, and aren't slippery.

Being knit they won't be it remotely slippery, dyneema is slippery when braided and as a raw material(uhmwpe is incredibly slippery and abrasion resistant). Being made out of dyneema it will also be incredibly cool to wear, wicks away heat like nothing else, I like a scratchy wool sweater for off widths but for this summer this would be rad.

I've seen them on amazon, there are also stores that specialise in ppe that I've seen stocking them.

i’ve never tried them but @tradprincess on insta uses neoprene bike sleeves that seem to work for her pretty well (you can see them fairly well in the picture but she has more on her insta)

Cotton and linen works great. Synthetics tend to be slick and stinky when they get moist. Sounds like a horrible idea imho.

Am I missing why you'd want t shirt + special sleeves vs just a long sleeve shirt?

If youre on a multi with only one pitch of OW and you don't want sleeves for the whole thing.

I like having air reach my armpits. I’m uncomfortable without that ventilation.

For context, I can’t run in long sleeve shirts either (for that same reason) and really only feel comfortable when I’m in tanktops while running. I don’t know why it makes me so uncomfortable.

dyneema knit gloves are slippery

So are wool gloves, doesn't mean my wool jumper is slippery in an off width.

Alright guys, since there is only one way to find out whether they rock or not, I went ahead and ordered them. I’ll report back after a they’ve seen a weekend in Vedauwoo.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
