Ice tool hanging

Wondering what you all use to do hangs from your tools? I have a great spot in my apartment where I could hang some sort of device to do hang workouts, but I wasn't sure what people are using. I was originally just going to cut up and slap some 2x4s together to make a shelf, but thought maybe there's something more appealing out there, or a better way to get a better hang. |

I think 2x4s are good for just hanging, but you can add a chain to practice moving up on figure 4/9s, or add any metal plate to practice finding and holding finicky mixed tool placements. Door hinges work well since they have built-in divots. Another feature of metal holds is that your tools won't bite into the wood, so you'll need to maintain more body tension to stay on. (and the wood won't get chewed up over time) |

I use threaded quick links that are part of my pullup "station" mounted to the ceiling in the garage. They are rated to 1000lbs or something overkill like that, so no issue with durability. I just hook the picks in either just a few teeth in or all the way, depending on what kind of "hang" I want to get. No damage to the picks. I also have the Metolius wooden Power Grips looped in with a pair of older carabiners for non-tool hangs or pull ups. Works great. If you are just looking to do hangs to build grip strength/muscle endurance, anything that will safely hold your weight from your tools will work -- pull up bar, two old carabiners, chain, etc. |

60 cm sling and carabiner clipped to the top clip in point. No need to be on the teeth just to hang, unless you don't have the vertical space. |

This is my really technical, fancy setup. Works great for pull ups (bar or Power Grips), tool hangs (off the quick links), etc. |

Yeah, Tim. Just wood screws. Paracord seems fine, and I weigh 174. Keeps me in true “don’t wiggle the tool too much” mode while training. |
