(hiking boots) La Sportiva Stream GTX vs. La Sportiva TXS GTX
|
Looking for people who have opinions on these shoes. They both fit me pretty well but i'm not 100% sure which one is better suited for me. Right now, I do all my hiking in approach shoes which honestly isn't that terrible. It's only a problem during shoulder seasons(or mid winter) when I'm hiking in deepish snow and my approach shoes don't do that well. Looking into expanding my quiver to have an actual hiking shoe. Does anyone own these shoes, what do you think? |

I picked up the streams but ended up returning them - they are definitely more of a summer hiking book in my opinion. Material felt very think throughout the upper. One idea, instead of getting boots just use gaiters with your approach shoes so you don't get snow in them. |

No problem, my main concern though with the thin uppers wasn't warmth though, but durability. I feel like I would shred them in a season. |

Like an idiot I used them as approach shoes and they did indeed get absolutely shredded after about a year. I think if I stick to using these are actual hiking boots they'll probably last me a good while. I don't really hike that often anyways haha. Realistically, it was a miracle the Core High GTX's lasted that long as approach shoes. |

Bought a pair of the TXS GTX after being pretty happy with the TX3 and TX4. I like them for dayhikes, but if I'm doing something multi-day I usually opt for my Garmont Vetta GTX instead as they are quite a bit stiffer. |
