April weather in Denver?

My friend and I are planning a trip down to Denver in mid-April to climb. I was wondering about snow melt and weather this time of year in the Flatirons/Rifle, or just anywhere near Denver. Is it warm enough to climb or should I head somewhere warmer to climb?

It will likely be beautiful weather. It could also snow. It feels like we usually get the last snow of the year in late April or early May.

If it's not snowing, it'll be really nice. If is snowing, it'll be really nice in a day or two.

On a good day (no traffic)Denver to Rifle is about 4 hours and on the other side of the divide. Weather can be very different there.

As alluded to above weather can be a mixed bag that time of year.

Unless it's actively snowing, April will be rad in the Denver area. It looks like you're psyched on moderate trad and sport -- you could spend a lifetime between 5.6 and 5.10b that time of year in Eldo, Flatirons, Boulder Canyon, Clear Creek and never drive more than 30 mins a day.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
