How long does a bar of wax last you for snowboarding?
|
I've been waxing my snowboard on the regular this season and I was curious how many waxes you get out of a bar? I'm currently getting around 12 waxes per bar which seems decent (3-5days of riding between waxing, so a bar lasts ~50 days of riding) |

That sounds pretty reasonable, but I’ve never paid close attention to that. If you’re dripping the wax on you might get a little more life out of a bar using the crayon method. |

years... |

i ride a fair bit (maybe 20 days a season), but i won't wax any of my boards more than twice a season. |

Here's a related question: is it ok to reuse scraped off wax? I used to do that back when I was really cheap and waxed my board a lot, now I find it usually too much of a pain to recover and store the shavings. But I'm still curious if it affects the performance at all. |

probably....but it seems like a recipe for ironing in a ton of dust and dirt from wherever you sweep up your shavings, unless your waxing area is immaculate |

I can get 1800g of all temp wax for around 120 which seems to work well enough for everything except warm spring conditions. I dont think I would bother setting up a wax capture system unless I was using some higher end waxes and wanted to make specific blends. |
