Any of those choices are good except the venoms. You can find out more details about various tools in the ice climbing section of the forum.

I have both the venoms and reactors. I prefer the venoms for anything up to WI3+. After that the reactors are awesome. I've noticed that beginners take a while to get a feel for the reactors swing, but once you're there they are such money!

thanks for the feedback....I’ve got it narrowed to Cobras or Reactors.....my old black prophets were carbon fiber...so I’m partial to that...but the Reactor appears to be the pure ice tool. BD videos describe the Cobra as pure ice and Reactor as mixed....while BD ad has them the other way around

Cobras are pretty much technical alpine tools in the BD line up w/ all the other choices available these days.

Dudes....thanks for all the feedback....decided to go with the BD Cobras....just to hard to pass up on carbon fiber and the the new ice blade....just got them and they are sweet! About half the weight of my old Black Prophets....and the ice blade is so thin.....Happy climbing!

I love the photo comparison of the old and the new.
