Title. Would love to size new boots, among other things, before hucking some money at my computer. Rock n Snow in New Paltz is 4 hrs for me. It will be my first-last resort, less anyone knows of a place that stocks stuff. Rei, ems, ski stores don’t stock them in store. (Ems/warrington had 1 pair of scarpas not in my size)

Go to Jasper in Alberta. I foolishly purchased a bunch of ice gear from REI. We got off the plane, went climbing, and I realized my stuff was inadequate. I forget the name of the shop in Jasper but they had 4,000 sqft of everything you could ever imagine for ice. I realized I had made a mistake buying in SoCal.
Good luck with it.

Hi Mike! Just found the coolest and most stocked store in Burlington, Vt today: Outdoor Gear Exchange. Lots of inventory, including ice. Also used gear. It was a full 8 hour drive, but I was passing through.I actually found them because they were selling what I was looking for on Amazon, looked them up, and saw that I’ll be there shortly. That might be a way to go, see who sells what and see where they are.

Rock and Snow (Gunks)

The Mountaineer (AdK)

IME (NH)

OGE (VT)

on the east coast those are really your only good choices I can think of. There isn’t much in your area.

Thanks. Haven’t been to R&S in a minute. Checked out IME while I was in town. Was impressed with the variety of gear, though select brands; was not impressed with prices on used gear but I think that’s consignment driven.  Thanks all!

hey we have to climb together sometime! It’s been a while.
