I recently lost my favourite 'fit under my helmet' ice climbing beanie. It's discontinued so I can't replace it. I have other smartwool, Lole, arc'teryx and WoolX beanies but none are the right combination of thin material and length so they cover my ears with a helmet on and don't ride up.

This is the exact hat: amazon.ca/Smartwool-PhD-Lig…

Does anyone happen to have an unwanted one of these lying around???? Or can you recommend a replacement?? I've looked through Smartwool, icebreaker, buff websites and don't see anything that I like the look of.

I also have an older Smartwool cap that I really like. So you can't have it. But because I have it, I can tell you that the fit is pretty much the same as the Patagonia beanie I have that I don't wear. So I'll sell you that, cheap ($8 +shpg).

Ha ha amazing. Thank you! I'm going to hang on a little longer to see if I can find the same model but I really appreciate the offer :)

I have the same beanie, I believe the current version of it from Smartwool is the Merino 150 Beanie. It might not be long enough, but that’s what I’d go for if I needed a replacement.

Thanks! Yes, I have one of those in black, and you're right, it doesn't quite cover my ears and rides up throughout the day. Who knew beanie needs could be so specific... lol

Oh man that's pretty close! I believe that the original was closer to the 150 weight. That looks the same as their current reversible offering:
