EpcTV.com shipping etc??

I'm looking to grab a rope and some other stuff. Bill comes out to 150-200 depending. If you have had any experience with buying gear from outside the U.S. is there anything I should expect that isn't being said up front by Epic? VAT, customs fees??? |
|
I have ordered from them many times. Shipping is fast, and I have never had an issue with an order. Only real issue is that if you need to return something you are going to pay a lot to ship it back. I buy most of my gear from either EpicTv or Banana Fingers. The prices are great and shipping is usually faster than domestic companies. |

Yeah, it's 50 bucks flat, so I'm tacking on some other gear with it. Might as well toss it all in. |

I have never been hit with customs fees. The only issue I ever had was when I tried using Royal Mail as it was a little cheaper. Due to Covid slowing USPS down it sat in a warehouse for over a month before they finally shipped it to me. Definitely not EpicTv’s fault though. |

Thanks everyone! Order being placed today! |

The british currency will probably take a shit after Brexit, so probably will become an even more advantageous place to shop. *I am not an economist |

My package arrived about a week ahead of time from DHL! |

Can confirm, no customs fees or issues on ropes from EpicTV. |

As noted by jdejace, 800 buck threshold. I learned this the hard way when I was slinging totems here a few years ago... $5K worth of totes hits ya hard! Another great option is Dick's Climbing, just email them and see if they'll match epic, often times they're able to do the same or better. I've always had the best service of any retailer when using the guys there and they will work with you on the DHL fees and just charge you exactly what it costs, instead of a (potentially larger) flat fee. |

HI, Sorry to post on this old thread. But did you guys have to pay the US taxes at the delivery time (not the duties) ? Epictv sent the products from UK (or whatever EU country) and international customers do not pay UK taxes. |
|
I ordered some climbing shoes from epictv and did not have to pay US taxes nor customs, making them very cheap compared to US retail price. It seems they have ended that deal unfortunately, because all climbing shoes on their site are now in line with US prices. Was nice while it lasted. |
|
Don't they have an extra "heavy" shipping charge for items like rope? It seems that when I looked into it the extra charge offset the savings. |

Prav C wrote: This is incorrect. Their prices change a lot and some brands can for periods of time mirror US prices, but generally there will always be significant discounts depending on the brand and model. For instance - Shaman Lace is $119 on EpicTV, $185 here, although you can find them at $135 on sale. New 2022 Katana Lace is $135-$142 depending on size on EpicTV compared to $210 here. They seem to put brands on sale in waves, so if you want the best deal its ideal to grab them when available not necessarily when you absolutely need them. Also buy more than 1 shoe so you can get free shipping. |
