A friend and I are starting a small business making freestanding, adjustable climbing walls that work great for the Tension home layout, kilter home layout, and mini moonboard. It can fit in nearly any room of your house or apartment with 8ft ceilings. The wall’s climbing surface is 7.5ft wide, 10ft long. The interesting thing about the wall design is that it is hinged such that the wall always fits under a standard 8ft ceiling across its angle range. As you adjust the position of the legs in and out, the top section automatically adjusts to avoid hitting the ceiling. The lower/main panel angle adjusts between 25 and 40 deg. At 25deg: the top section of the wall has a nearly horizontal roof. The 25 degree setting is great for warming up, and it takes up less space in the room. It also makes for some fun cave problems! At 40deg, it is a straight wall (standard angle for tension/kilter/moonboard). The floor footprint of the wall at 25 deg is 8ft x 5.5ft, and 8ft x 8.5ft at 40deg. (see the ad for any more details)

We hope this wall is a great solution for those that want to avoid attaching their climbing wall to the wall or ceiling of their house or apartment. Also for anyone that isn’t quite ready for a 40deg wall so they can progress over time. As you may have noticed, most adjustable walls that are 10ft in length need to be at 40deg or steeper to fit under an 8ft ceiling. Our walls are also good for anyone looking for a wall that’s big enough to have lasting fun on, but can take up less space when you’re not climbing on it. Assembly:

The wall breaks down into smaller climbing wall sections and legs. Each section gets bolted together. When broken down, the entire wall can easily fit in a minivan with the rear seats removed.

Space Requirements: easily fits in a typical 10x10 foot room (nearly any spare room). Footprint at 25deg is 8ft x 5.5ft. Footprint at 40deg is 8ft x 8.5ft.
