Podcast on the Geology of Rock Climbing Spots

Hello everyone, this past year I started a podcast on the geology of different rock climbing spots, and I profiled Joshua Tree on my most recent episode! On the episode I talk about the different geologic processes that led to the creation of the landscape and the way those processes effect the climbing. Best of all, the episode also features input from writer Luke Mehall and long time climbing guide Roddy McCalley. Feel free to let me know what you think!

Hey, this podcast sounds like a great idea. I love climbing with Geology friends for this reason. Just subscribed.

Quinn, This seems like a rad idea! Thanks for creating it. Excited to check it out.

I can't help but think of the one Geologist or professor? That puts up some FA's in the sierra and other places in the SW USA. He would probably be a good guest or collaborator. 'Derek Field' is his name i believe and his IG page is @fieldofadventures . I feel like you would have alot to talk about, or he could recommend guests & resources. Love that you are incorporating Luke, Roddy, & other climbers/writers in the future episodes. Good luck.

Cool idea! Can you do an episode on the Flatirons or Eldorado Canyon?

Yes! I've always wanted to learn more about the fountain formation sandstone!

Thanks everyone for the support and the suggestions! I'll keep it all in mind for future episodes. My #1 criteria though to do an episode is that I have to actually climb and experience the location that I profile, so given the state of COVID atm it might be a bit before I make it out to Colorado.

Hello again! I know Pinnacles National Park is not technically located in So Cal, but the volcano that created the formations is! My newest (and I think best episode) on Pinnacles is out on all podcast platforms and through the link below. Let me know what you think if you listen to it, and any suggestions on where I should go next!
