The Future Of Ice Screw Bags!
|
Here it is! The future of ice screw bags!! The HMGAR Screw Cannon holds 14 screws, weighs 6 ounces (2 oz more than a single BD roll) haul loop and packs down when not full. Costs as much as two BD screw bags, NO LOST CAPS, and MADE IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON!!! For sale here: Youtube: |

Struggling to open the etsy link. Is it just me? Youtube doesn't seem to have a link either. |
|
Found it in the title on YouTube. Don't know why but it's crashing my app when opening it from here. This is just what I've been looking for. |

Does this roll have a floor/bottom to make it bag? One pic has a black floor, other pics doesn’t have a floor and looks like it’s just a flat fabric with tubs in it for the screws. I personally would like a floor to make it an enclosed bag if possible, but can also see the both the pros/cons in that style making it an enclosed bag, but would like to know. |

Hello! lots of interest in the Screw Cannon. If links aren’t working at all, just send me your email and I will get you a formal invoice for one. -The bottom is closed with Cordura. -the screw tube pockets are open at the bottom, no worry about stuff falling in and trying to push caps and whatnot out. -I have decided to add a grommet on the bottom of the bag for water drainage. I think the crashing apps might be from YouTube or Etsy creating “iphone-apple” hyperlinks. My Etsy shop name is HighMountainGear My Youtube Channel can be found by searching High Mountain Gear And Repair I haven’t started the first large batch yet, but I’d like to get the first 30 done in a few days so everyone has them by the weekend for sending time. My website is www.highmountaingearandrepair.com But I put a lot of products on Etsy for ease of addition to my page. If there are other questions or concerns, feel free to comment or email me through my site. I hope to get enough sales to purchase some fluorescent pink packcloth, since there’s not enough of that in climbing. |

Most impressive, I planted the seed for the need of a better third party screw bag at 9:31am and by 4:08pm, the Cannon was designed, built, and up on Etsy, Kyle you the man!! Temres 282-02s and the Screw Cannon within months, ice climbing gear innovation is officially over... |

Do you have a small one for just 6 screws? Lol |

^^ Sewn in an expanding double helix pattern. “The right DNA for your screws” |

old5ten wrote: Yes, most suggestions I have received are regarding this helix/spiral. The other point is that since it’s a bag and not a roll, the hangers are all going to be on the inside and not facing outwards. The bag currently takes quite a while to make from a production standpoint, and I think that while its reasonable to expect this spiral could reduce volume, it would likely increase the amount of work and the price of the bag to around $70-80. If space is EXTREMELY important, then you can lay all the hangers together and it packs nearly as small as the screws themselves. The current design has a little longer collar to accommodate weird handles, but sliding it carefully in a pack is all that is necessary. Here’s 9 screws, looks like it could squeeze 12 in there if I could find my other screws FROM HAVING FALLEN OUT OF MY BULLSHIT SCREW ROLLS. |

Happy with mine! Thanks! |

Can I assume the length of this while packed and horizontal is less than that of the rolls? With the rolls screw hangers stick out on both sides, and I have found with my Alpha FL ice pack that screw hangers sticking out on both sides means I can pack the screws flat in my bag, they have to be in diagonally, which is a waste of space and annoying to pack. Does that make sense? Would I be correct in assuming this should be less long than a roll since all hangers are on the same side? |

Pat Marrinan wrote: I think I am just tired, but I am having a little trouble following what you’re saying. I think the answer to your question is yes. IF all your screws are Black Diamond, apparently. It takes up less space in your horizontal configuration. Petzl hangers are too big to stack like that. The screw cannon is undergoing a design change, or changes. I am tired of being stubborn and I am going to give the people what they want, not what I think they should have. Give me some time and I will have it worked out how its reasonable to be made and still work for everyone.

Hello! Got a new design, 50% smaller with tapered slots. Much better for Petzl hangers, same beefy construction. I have a little bit of the neon green fabric left, otherwise it is available in the red fabric. Just let me know which model you are interested in, still made with two hands in Seattle, Washington. |

This is really cool! Having done a little custom sewing and small projects, these things take way longer than most people realize. Good on ya for making it happen! |

How can I order one of the smaller bags? |
