Adidas Five Ten - Corporate Blundering
|
I would say that Adidas is finally killing the climbing shoe lineup but I honestly think it's corporate idiocy that is stifling their capability to integrate with the climbing community. They've officially dropped their support from the old Five Ten Pro deals days and if you want a Five Ten shoe, regardless if you're an athlete, outdoor affiliate or other, you're going to pay full price for one of three useful shoes they now offer. I just got off the phone with them and their response was, "We have been alerted to this issue but at this time we are not planning to change any policies." Welp - I'm officially saying so long to the Five Ten brand...all good things must end I guess. I'm hoping to generate some useful responses here so I can link this forum page to the representative I'm working with (which, pretty low expectations at this point) but lets give it a go, Thanks Cole |

Some brands are just hard to get pro deals for. Patagonia, La Sportiva. If 5.10 is just now Addidas, maybe all you gotta do is apply for an Adiddas pro deal, now. (I've never tried to do either) |

It’s sad as 5.10 was a core brand in climbing. Like Adidas was in soccer. Things change. Still wish I could get a new pair of Spires for long days on slabs. |

How much discount did pro deals get you? I don't know if this is the case for the US, but I think the pro deals are pretty redundant given that Adidas runs site-wide coupon codes (that are often stackable). |

I just checked AAC member perks. No more 5.10 deals. Looks like I'm an Unparallel Shoes customer now. |

Definitely sad the AAC 5.10 discount is done :( Also the 5.10 site is now gone and now it's all on the Adidas site which sucks imo. I can only find like 5 shoes and one color of guide tennie |
