New 5.10 Dragon sizing, WTF?
|
So I am a fan of of the old Dragons and have three pairs in 7.5. My street size is 8.5. I found a really good deal on the new Dragons, so I gave them a shot. Now, I understand that Adidas run true to street size, so I ordered them in 8.5. I cannot even get these fuckers on, like not even close. Anyone else experience this? |

Can confirm. FYI the new dragon is nothing like the old one and imho just a shitty shoe. |

I wear an 8.5 Adidas street shoe and am a 9 in new Dragons. Unrelated, I have a pair of size 9 new Dragons for sale. |

Cool. Thanks. Moving on to Sportiva and Boreal then. |

I do 7.5 in five ten and was able to make lace up dragons work. That said the fit is not what it was in terms of width. Definitely more baggy, less precise. I have yet to see much enthusiasm for this shoe redesign among climbers but making ugly clothing and shoes seems to be Adidas' thing these days. Weird. |

Also, they feel extremely narrow, not baggy at all. I have used 5.10 since the mid 90s, but have been trending to Sportiva over the last few years. |

This thread is my reaction when I first ordered Moccasyms in 2020 in the old sizing. Peter Beal wrote: Yeah this whole thing reminds me of brands like Nike/Adidas trying to get into snowboarding. At least on the Canadian Adidas site, the only new shoe we've gotten is the Kirigami while the Moccs and Anasazi VCS have been sitting on discount. If they don't pull out completely, I at least suspect the old classics will be phased out for new Adidas designs. Although it does seem like the MTB side of Five Ten is going well (when I looked on their Instagram there was a lot of focus on that side of things). |
