COVID era indoor workout pants recomendations
|
Looking for some combined wisdom for workout pants(not at a climbing gym) that I can wear instead of my expensive climbing pants (OR Ferrosi & Prana Stretch Zion). I do HIIT, and weights, no running or biking. I go to a gym that doesn't have changing rooms, so I need to travel in my workout clothes. I live in Minnesota, and it is cold outside, so needs to be long pants. Also needs to be non-cotton, or a blend. |

Put any pants on over your workout shorts, then just take them off in the lobby? Can even use down puffy pants or something to be extra warm on the approach |
|
c'mon buck. you really need to ask this? ;) you can literally wear shorts under any pair of pants... |

Dudes: I wear pants to work out, the floor is outdoor carpet or textured concrete. My knees would get torn up wearing shorts. Plus it is usually only 60 degrees. Think "garage", with weights, kettlebells, medicine balls, squat racks w/TRX and benches. Any ground work I do is on a rough surface. I have a small matt for kneeling shoulder presses, Russian twists etc., but that is it. My ideal pant would be stretchy like the Zion, but made of a much more robust material, with a drawstring or built in belt. Black Diamond used to make climbing pants that looked like sweat pants, but were a really heavy polyester stretch material with three pockets. |

Xersion at JcPenny are cheap, comfortable, cotton/syn blend. But lightweight so not really robust like you want. |

The Vuori performance joggers aren't cheap but they're fantastic, I've been living in them the past few months. |

Get yourself some custom made stretchy skinny highwater jeans. You'll look great! |

Adidas Tiro pants are made for soccer warmups so they are snug around the lower leg but looser in the thigh / crotch. |

Well, this morning I wore my Outdoor Research Ferrosi pants. I really like how they move with me, don't bind up anywhere, but keep things in the right place at the same time. But I don't want to wear them out just going to the gym. YKWIM. I ordered some Adidas Tiro, and a pair of Under Armor Vital workout pants. I really do like those Arborist pants, they look very burly. |

I have been buying some really high quality knock offs of expensive outdoor pants at local discount stores- Tjmaxx, Mashalls, Ross, Ect. Look in the dress pants section and don’t look for any particular brand, look only at the fabric contents on the tag and you will find blends of around 80% nylon / 20% elastic , they are advertising those dress pants as like “active” ect. Some even have additional pockets. One downside is they might have weird closure systems like clips but I have never had any issues wearing those with a harness. Most only cost 15-20 dollars like these which feel just like a pair of rei pants: |
