Good rechargeable LED light for night sessions?

I’m looking to get a good rechargeable led work light for night bouldering sessions. Can anyone here recommend a decent one that lights up rocks adequately enough? Ideally one that’s fairly portable. There seems to be endless options on amazon, and I can’t tell which reviews are fake or not so I’d like to ask ya guys here. Any insight appreciated.

Rechargeable as in solar or plug in?

Luci's are surprisingly bright and charge pretty fast in the sun.

I have a Goalzero lantern and it's pretty damn bright - it's USB / Solar / Crank recharge

Ideally just plug in, so I can change them at home or from a battery.  I don’t have any solar panels but would consider getting them if worthwhile. I’ll check both those out. Which goal zero lantern do you have? Do you find the lantern style light directs the light well enough at the walls? I was imagining something more like a work light or spot light.

I have some Cat LED work lights from Costco (also on Amazon) that are light and bright. Highly recommend.

I use this one. Cheap and works great for a night session. harborfreight.com/1500-lume…

Zebralight headlamps are by far the best, brightest headlamps I've ever seen. Expensive but worth it if you want a long lasting, bright, indestructible headlamp.

Sweet, are they the battery operated ones or are they rechargeable?

Most tool brands have lights for their battery lineup. If you have a 18v or 12v setup, look into that. Waiting on the M12 Rover that's about to be released. M12 SDS dudes, looks promising.

8 hours w/ 4Ah battery @700 Lumens, 24hrs @250 lumens. Pretty excited for 8hrs of light on a single charge.

They are the rechargeable ones. I have two, and that is more than enough light for the vast majority of night bouldering sessions. I've had them for about four years now, and they don't hold a charge for as long as they used to, but I still get a solid couple hours out of them and I pretty much just leave them on throughout the session.

Cheaper headlamp option that I’ve really been enjoying is the Sofirn SP40. You can get 2-3 for the price of one Zebralight

Don't buy a GoalZero product for something this simple. They just assemble cheap low-quality parts, make sure they work together, and advertise the hell out of them. It might be worth it for something complicated enough that you don't want to buy better parts for less and assemble them yourself, but for something as simple as a floodlight, there are a dozen companies offering better packages for less.

For example, THESE LIGHTS are brighter, run longer, and you can buy two of them for the price of that GoalZero lantern, and have 9 bucks left over to spend on chalk. They aren't solar, but I have to question the utility of having something depend on solar when you intend to use it at night.

this is why rechargeable batteries never caught on. what's the utility of plugging something in to charge it, if you intend to use it very far away from a plug? ludicrous

Awesome. I’m searching the Costco website and I don’t see them anymore but I’m gonna keep looking. Thanks for the recommendation

Yeah I agree goal zero stuff is overpriced for what it is. Thanks for the recommendation on those, that is more what I was looking for. I’ll probably just end up getting those or a similar one on amazon. It’s just hard to sift through all the options and fake reviews, but glad to hear those work for you.

Another vote for the Cat lights.   Cheap and very bright.

Cat Lights actually look like a better deal than the ones I have--initially I thought they were the same price, but I didn't realize the Cat page is a pack of two.

Gonna mount one or two of those CAT lights to my Mtn Bike.  Might be a tad much for a helmet Mount, but it’s tempting

I have tWo Milwaukee m12 ROVER lights. That i take night bouldering. They are light, brigh, rechargeable, and can swap batteries. They are a fixed angle but that has not been a problem.

https://www.milwaukeetool.com/Search#q=m12%20light

I also use a Fenix industries head lamp.  1000 lumin and great battery life.  The batteries are also exchangeable and rechargeable.  They can be a touch heavy so i use the model with the battery in the back. Makes it feel more balanced.

Lights with a fixed battery are cheaper and still nice but if you are out for more than one night they are dysfunctional.  I really like the exchangeable battery aspect of these lights though there are many other options with that same perk
