Crag Wagon gear loops for shoe storage

I have a crag wagon from moutnain hardware and was wanting to use these side loops for my climbing shoes.  The loops are just big enough to fit a finger in.  I was wondering if anyone had a specific product/idea on how to attach then to these hooks and not have the swing all over the place while on the approach.  Ideally it would be a stretchy mesh pocket like the second image.

Carabiner through a loop to hook to the shoe pull straps then maybe a bit of bungee one set of loops lower to snap over the top of them. Hard to tell if that would work dimensionally, never seen a crag wagon.

Why don't you want to put the shoes in the pack? Isn't there plenty of room for them?

4 ski straps, put a shoe on each side of the bag with the sole facing in. Then put one over the toe of your shoe, one over the heel. And tighten it down.

There is room for them, I just always forget to remove them from my pack and then they dont have a chance to air out and dry.

Interesting, that seems like it would work pretty well

The Mountain Hardwear Multipitch serie has a built-in mesh pocket that does exactly what you want to do. As you can see from the picture the pocket is held in place by slinding the sown end of strap through the loops on the bag. It should be fairly easy to recreate the same concept.

If you have the mesh bag that your harness (probably) came in, you can safety pin (or tie) the corners of it to the tie-in points to get this same set-up.

Yes. I just ordered a cragwagon the other day. I’m trying this~

Maybe try one of those external helmet holders. I know Blue Ice sells them individually. Deuter makes them, too.

I didn't like how using a shoe/harness bag worked.  It was too difficult to use and really limited the ease of the entire thing.

I ordered some shock cord(25ft) from rei https://www.rei.com/product/107608/liberty-mountain-shockcord-18-diameter and line locks https://www.rei.com/product/848877/gear-aid-ellipse-toggle-cord-locks. This solution seems to work great for me, it did cost about $10 but I'm now happy with my solution. Thanks for all the ideas
